Epson SureLab D1070 Professional Minilab Printer: overview
The Epson SureLab D1070 is a production dry-lab printer for photo studios, school and sports photographers, retail photo counters and event teams that need more speed and larger sizes than a compact lab printer provides. Epson rates it at up to 460 4 x 6 inch, 300 5 x 7 inch and 165 8 x 10 inch prints per hour (print-engine speed; actual throughput varies).
It prints on roll media from 3.5 to 8.3 inches wide (3 inch core, rolls up to 213 feet) and on double- or single-sided sheet media, with a maximum printable length of 39.3 inches. Ink is six-color UltraChrome D6r-S dye ink in 250 mL packs, a cartridge-free system. The printer weighs 38.3 lb without paper and ink and offers Hi-Speed USB 3.0, 100Base-T Ethernet and 2.4/5 GHz wireless with a 1.44-inch LCD. Epson Cloud Solution PORT can monitor printers remotely, and Epson backs the printer with U.S.-based support. An optional duplex feeder is available for double-sided printing, and the D1070DE includes it.

Epson’s SureLab dry-lab line has three models on this site. The D570 is the compact, stackable model for 4 x 6 inch work, and Epson says it can run from a user-provided portable battery. The D1070 prints up to 8.3 inches wide from roll and sheet media with 250 mL ink packs. The D1070DE is the D1070 with a duplex feeder for double-sided prints. All three use six-color UltraChrome D6r-S dye ink.
