Epson SureColor T3170x 24-Inch Cartridge-Free Desktop Printer: overview
The Epson SureColor T3170x is the cartridge-free model in the 24-inch T3170 family. Instead of replacing cartridges, you refill high-capacity ink tanks from bottles, which Epson says removes the time spent buying and changing cartridges. It prints with four-color Epson T49H ink (C, M, Y, K) and produces A1/D-size prints in 34 seconds on Epson’s speed test.
Epson lists 140 mL ink bottles, with two sets of bottles included in the box, and says the printer can be up and running in as little as 30 minutes. It has a 4.3-inch touchscreen, integrated wireless with Wi-Fi Direct, an auto sheet feeder for sheets up to 11 x 17 inches and 24-inch roll support. The stand is optional on the T3170x. Because the ink is bottled rather than cartridge-based, the T3170 cartridges listed elsewhere on this site do not apply; call DTG for the correct bottle part numbers.

Who buys the SureColor T3170x and what they print
Who buys it, from DTG’s sales and support work in Tampa: Epson SureColor T-series printers like the T3170x are bought by architecture and engineering firms, franchise print-and-ship stores and quick printers, print-for-pay shops, schools and education departments, and grocery stores.
What they print on: poster paper, matte paper and bond paper. See technical and engineering media; ink, media and support available from DTG.
T3170x vs T3170 vs T3475
The T3170x shares its print engine speed with the T3170 but swaps cartridges for refillable tanks, which suits offices that print steadily and would rather refill than reorder cartridges. If you need faster A1/D output with cartridges up to 700 mL, look at the T3475. For six-color XD3 ink with Red, see the T3770 family.
