So how does the 36-inch Epson T5470M compare to its T5770 same sized large format technical printer? We would position the T5470M printer in the low to mid volume market – meaning you print and scan with it a few times a week. It has smaller ink cartridges, is a little slower, and not as robust a design as the more industrial T5770 series of printers. If you like to learn more about which Epson technical printer is right for your needs, please see the PDF in our Learn More section titled “How to Choose from Epson Technical Printers.

The Epson SureColor T5470M uses a standard CMYK inkset called UltraChrome XD2. You can choose from 2 different sizes: 110ml and 350ml and you can mix and match sizes if you find yourself using more or less of a certain color or colors. You can shop for Epson T5470 ink here.

The SureColor T5470M comes with a 1 year on-site warranty for parts and labor. You have an option of extending the warranty for up to an additional 4 years. If you think you would want to extend the warranty, it’s better to buy it at the same time you purchase the printer because the cost of the warranty is significantly lower if you purchase it with the printer.  Shop for Epson T5470M extended warranties here.

The built-in, integrated wide format scanner on the T5470M printer scans up to 36″ wide at 600 DPI (PPI). Scan blueprints, posters, drawings, tracing papers, and more as fast as 4.5 inches per second in color and 7.5 inches per second in monochrome. The SureColor T5470M Printer & Scanner will allow you to scan directly to a networked folder, server, email, USB storage device in PDF, Encrypted PDF, TIFF, and JPG formats.
