The HP DesignJet Z9+ 44-in PostScript Printer (W3Z72D) is a 44-inch HP Thermal Inkjet printer with 9 pigment-based inks (cyan, magenta, yellow, matte black, photo black, chromatic red, chromatic green, chromatic blue and gray) and an optional gloss enhancer. It uses 5 universal printheads (valid for all colors), prints up to 2400 x 1200 optimized dpi, and handles Adobe PostScript 3 and Adobe PDF 1.7 natively, along with TIFF, JPEG, CALS G4, HP-GL/2 and HP-RTL. A 500 GB self-encrypting hard disk and 128 GB of virtual memory are standard.
HP lists photographic, fine art, poster and point-of-sale work as its primary applications, on photographic, fine art, self-adhesive, banner and sign, bond and coated, and backlit media from 80 to 500 g/m² and up to 0.8 mm (31.5 mil) thick.
