Bamboo 265 is also made from approx. 90% bamboo and has been developed as a mixed media quality. Its unique surface makes it equally ideal for painting, drawing and mixed techniques. According to the painter Karin Kuthe, who has tested the paper, “Bamboo 265 gsm is a beautiful paper with an amazing feel. The paper characteristics convinced me, no matter what medium I used - pastel, oil pastel, crayon, pencil, watercolor, gouache, acrylic, air brush. While painting with watercolors the paper does not become wavy in any way. This leads to outstanding results with wash, glaze and wet-on-wet techniques. I am very confident that Bamboo 265 gsm will be extremely sought-after, not least because it is made from highly renewable Bamboo and therefore helps to save our natural world.” Bamboo 265 will be presented in January 2008 at the Paperworld show in Frankfurt and will subsequently be available on the market.

Moenkopi Japanese Papers |
 |
Traditional Japanese Washi for digital photographers and artists using archival ink jet printers.
Moenkopi [moe-in-koe-pee] is not a Japanese name and Moab is not located in Japan, but these papers represent a unique partnership with the Awagami Factory in Tokushima, Japan. Moenkopi is a Native-American name which was used to identify a mudstone layer of rock common in the Moab area. The world-famous Fisher Towers seen in many a John Wayne film, were formed in this strata. These unique towers seem to low from the earth. It is fitting then that Moenkopi would be used to define our family of environmentally-friendly Japanese papers made primarily from Kozo (mulberry) fibers. The mulberry fibers can be harvested without killing the plant creating a sustainable renewable source.
Designed for use with archival ink jet printers, Moenkopi papers have been treated for use with most dye and pigment inks for a sharp image structure but maintain the exquisite feel expected from a fine Japanese Washi paper. |
